A Winter Landscape Botanical Illustration Workshop

Be inspired by Jennifer Wen Ma’s A Winter Landscape Cradling Bits of Sparkle, the 2015 Market Square Public Art Program project, and learn to illustrate bamboo with botanical illustration artist, Robin Menard. A Winter Landscape, on view until April 12, 2015, is a small forest in Market Square. The artwork features many varietals of trees, including bamboo, painted black with Chinese ink, blooming and evolving with the welcoming of spring. Participants will be given a tour of the artwork and will create their illustrations onsite. All skill levels are welcome, ages 16 and over. Workshop presented by the Office of Public Art and the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership. All workshop materials for the project will be provided, but you can also bring your own. Workshop takes place in rain, snow, or shine. In case of extreme weather, workshop will be relocated indoors.

The Pittsburgh Tangueros offer 4 levels of Argentine tango instruction on Sundays between 4-8pm. There is a strong emphasis on the connection required for a close embrace style of tango. The beginner class introduces Argentine Tango to the complete novice.
